There has been a lot of talk about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the two part movie Avengers: Infinity War, with many people believing that it will be the last time we will see a lot of the current stars in the film. It is expected that Avengers: Infinity War will be the last we will see of Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans, to name just a few.
With that in mind, there have been a lot of suggestions as to who we are going to see taking over as Captain America, with some claiming that we will see Bucky Barnes taking over, while others believe the Falcon will make the switch. With that said, the Russo Brothers are the guys who will make the big decision and they are playing their cards very close to their chest.
Anthony Russo was talking about the two part Avengers: Infinity War movie, when he explained, "We are moving into a Phase with the storytelling where when we bring Captain America's story forward from Civil War, it's going to be into Avengers: Infinity War. That's the next chapter so to speak in his specific story and there's been no talk of where we go beyond that yet."
He added, "Those are two gigantic movies that are intended to be the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, so there is going to be storytelling that happens in those films that we haven't seen yet in the MCU, so who's to say what the condition of the characters are at that point or who even makes it to that movie to begin with. Who makes it out of those movies is anybody's guess at this point."
Avengers: Infinity War: Part One is set to hit the big screen on April 27, 2018 in the UK and May 4, 2018 in the US, before Avengers: Infinity War: Part Two is released on April 26, 2019 in the UK and May 3, 2019 in the US.
