Following the huge success of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, it is going to be an extremely difficult task for whoever is given the task of directing the Batman reboot. No matter what they do, their Batman film is going to be compared to what Nolan did.

Batman symbol
The best thing that the new director of the Batman reboot could do, is make something that is completely different from what Christopher Nolan did. If they attempt to stick to the same dark style that Nolan executed so greatly, they will most certainly fall short.
The other issue facing the director is who the villain of the piece is going to be. Fans have been debating who the villain of the Batman reboot should be and it will be interesting to see if the new director goes with what the fans want or if they take Batman on their own route.

Heath ledger as the joker in the dark knight
A lot of the fans have been saying that they would like to see Mr Freeze done again and done well, as well as Poison Ivy. However, it appears that the Joker is also wanted again but the consensus with the fans is that he appears in a smaller role early on and grows into a main villain in a future Batman movie.
This would be a bold move for any director, considering how superb and how recent the Heath Ledger performance of the Joker was in The Dark Knight. There are still plenty of Batman villains that have yet to appear on the big screen and, with the Justice League movie expected before the Batman reboot, we may have a better idea of who the villain may be by then.
