There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the planned Suicide Squad movie and, from the moment that it was confirmed that the film had been given the green light, the comic book fans were out in force to give their opinions on which stars should be cast in the film. We have since been given a lot of casting news, with confirmation of most of the actual Suicide Squad being cast but there was still one character that needed confirming.

Well, it has now been reported that the casting of Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad has now been confirmed, with Viola Davis beating Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey to the role.
This will see Viola Davis joining an all-star cast, which will see Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Cara Delevingne as Encharntress, with Jesse Eisenberg rumoured to be reprising his role as Lex Luthor for the Suicide Squad movie.
Suicide Squad will be directed by David Ayer, based on the screenplay that he is currently developing himself, with the movie set to begin shooting in 2015, with a scheduled release date planned for August 5, 2016 in the US, while the UK is awaiting an official release date.
