Well after months and months of discussions about a possible Spice Girls reunion next year, it looks like we are not going to get to see it happen, well not as a five piece girl group at least. Everyone seemed convinced that we would see all of the girls finally giving in and agreeing to do one more reunion tour but that has not been the case.
Victoria Beckham was always going to be the hardest one to convince to return and, when she confirmed that she would not be interested in a Spice Girls reunion, Mel C decided to follow suit and also reject the reunion. That left Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Mel B, who will form the new group GEM, and now Victoria and Mel C have been giving their views on things.
Beckham says that she does not thing the threesome should sing any old Spice Girls songs, saying, "I do think they should sing their own material. Because what we did in the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs I think I might be a bit sad."
Meanwhile, Mel C feels that the should have stopped after the 2012 Olympics, adding, "We played at the closing ceremony for the Olympics in 2012. That to me was where it (the Spice Girls) should have been laid to rest. Sometimes you just have to say no."
As for the other three girls and their new group GEM, we expect to hear some news about their plans in the very near future.
