It was recently revealed that AMC are planning to create a spin-off to the hit zombie television series The Walking Dead. The news delighted fans of the show, which returns to AMC later this month, and now some more news, which is less pleasing, has been confirmed.
While there are definitely some solid plans to make a The Walking Dead spin-off, it does seem that it could be some time before it happens. The Walking Dead's Gale Anne Hurd said that the series was still in the very early stages of development, as they continue to find the perfect concept for the show.
Hurd told MTV, "That's still being batted around. It's very early in the process. We realised it was likely to leak the minute we started initial discussions and that's why the announcement was made."
While fans wait on more concrete news from AMC about the spin-off, they still have the new season of The Walking Dead to look forward to. The Walking Dead season four will premiere on AMC in the US on October 13, before then airing in the UK on FOX on October 18.
