The hit television series The X Factor has been running for many years in the UK now and has given us some truly talented stars along the way, with the beautiful and talented Leona Lewis being among the biggest and the best to ever come from the show. Following her success on The X Factor, Simon Cowell signed her up to his Syco record label, before things fell apart.
Leona Lewis decided to leave Syco records, going on to sign up with Island Records, before later signing with Def Jam, claiming that things at Syco had become too political. However, despite all of that, Simon Cowell has spoken out about the possibility of working with Leona again in the future, and Simon has admitted that he would love to sign her up again.
Cowell was chatting to the British newspaper The Sun, when he explained, "I have a real soft spot for Leona for so many reasons. I'd say to her, and I genuinely mean this, that the door will always be left open... Any time she ever thought 'I want to come back to Syco' I'd welcome her with open arms.
He added, "When you've got a talent as good as this and a voice as good as that, with the right song you can always have a hit. She was being wound up. That just wasn't her. And I think she now understands that once you say something, it kind of creates your own momentum, but probably not in the right way."
It will be interesting to see if Simon Cowell would still feel the same if Leona Lewis had blown all her money and her career was in the gutter. You never know, we might actually get to find out in the future, although it does seem unlikely.
