Salli Richardson Whitfield has waved goodbye to Eureka and hello to NCIS, Newsroom and the Up Network. The actress has been busy since the end of her Syfy show, but will Salli Richardson Whitfield ever return to television as a leading lady? The answer is yes and no.
Since Eureka ended in 2012, Richardson Whitfield has guest starred on three episodes of Newsroom as Jane Barrow. A news anchor who plays a minor role on the show. Salli is getting more of the spotlight on an upcoming episode of NCIS titled "Alibi". The number one rated television show has her playing Carrie Clark, a former FBI agent turned lawyer that confides in Gibbs (mark Harmon) that her client's alibi is solid, but confidential. The episode airs November 12 at 8/7C on CBS.
This month the Up Network premiered their original movie, Saving Westbrook High. Richardson Whitfield plays Dr. Christine Walker. She is the principal of the titled high school and has to deal with closing the school. As a former alumni of the school, Dr. Walker, has a hard time dealing with the closing of the school and joins in the fight to save the school. Many reviewers believe that the television movie can act as a back door pilot, because it has so much potential to be a regular television series.
Next for Richardson Whitfield is a follow up to Saving Westbrook High titled Playin' For Love. It is scheduled for a 2014 release. Could this next movie be a step in getting a new series? We hope so, because our television's miss Salli Richardson Whitfield.
