There has been a lot of talk about the comeback of Adele recently, with the British star releasing a new track, as well as having her new album coming out but, while she recently admitted that she would love to work with Rihanna, it seems that the feeling is not exactly mutual, as Rihanna has rejected a track which Adele had worked on.
Rihanna is preparing for the release of her own new album Anti, which has been delayed, as she wants to get every song on the new record exactly right. Now, singer Sia has revealed how she and Adele wrote the song together, which she then pitched to Rihanna, who rejected using the track on her new album.
Sia told radio host Ryan Seacrest, "We wrote three songs in two days and none of them made the cut and this was one of them. I said to (Adele), 'Do you mind if I pitch it to, say, Rihanna?' And she said, 'Yeah, but can you take my vocal off it because I don't want my vocal floating around out there on a demo'."
She then went on to add, "So I went and re-cut the vocal and everybody in my life was like, 'You can't give this away to anybody'... I believe she (Rihanna) did (consider the song) and she passed. We sent it to her, but it's not really her so I don't know why I thought that. It is a smash, but she's a little more edgy."
Fortunately though, we will still get to hear the new track on This Is Acting, as Sia has now decided to keep the song and release it for herself. Let's hope it's a goodie!
