There has been plenty of talk about the future of Portuguese "Special One" Jose Mourinho for the past few weeks now, with many people suggesting that his days as Chelsea manager are numbered. Well, those people were spot on and, following a string of embarrassing results, Jose Mourinho has been sacked as the manager of Chelsea.

The favourite to take over from Jose Mourinho is Guus Hiddink, although many people are suggesting that this will only be on a temporary basis, with a short-term contract taking him to the Summer. In the Summer, Spanish superstar Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will stand down as Bayern Munich manager, with most believing that this means he will take over at Chelsea.
While Chelsea fans can get excited about the possibility of having one of the best managers in the world at their club, it also seems that there could well be something else to get excited about. If Pep Guardiola does take over at Chelsea in the Summer, it is thought that his first job will be to persuade Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona and come to the English Premier League.

With that said, there is no way that Lionel Messi is going to join a club that is not competing in the Champions League and it looks increasing unlikely that Chelsea are going to finish in the Top 4 of the English Premier League this season. Chelsea fans can dream of the possibility of seeing Lionel Messi strutting his stuff at Stamford Bridge, but we wouldn't suggest holding your breath.
