When it was first announced that Ben Affleck had been cast in the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman for the upcoming movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there were many fans around the world who were disappointed by it. Now, it seems that there is also a Hollywood legend who feels that Ben is going to struggle to fill the boots left by Christian Bale.
Hollywood veteran Morgan Freeman starred alongside Christian Bale in the Christopher Nolan Dark Night trilogy, and he has now given his views on the new movie. Morgan says that he feels the Dark Knight movies were spot on and he cannot see how this new project is ever going to live up to what they achieved.
Freeman was the first one to speak about the new Batman actor, saying, "You know, I'm happy for Ben [Affleck], but I don't know how that's gonna work. Because the 'Dark Knight' was almost 'it.' Pretty much 'it.' Did you see 'Batman Begins?' I don't think you can beat that."
Christian Bale then responded to these comments from his former co-star, adding, "Everyone brings their own element to that -- Ben [Affleck] will do that as well. I think the trailers are looking great and I'm looking forward to that. But right on for Morgan [Freeman] for saying no one will ever be that, I very much like him."
We guess we will just have to wait and see just what Ben Affleck can do with the character and whether he can win over his critics. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit the big screen on March 25 in both the US and the UK.
