It has been confirmed that MTV are teaming up with MLB to bring a new weekly television series called Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave and it has been confirmed that Melanie Iglesias will be among the hosts of the show. The new series will begin in April and Melanie, who is a huge baseball fan has spoken about being given the hosting job.
Iglesias was clearly very excited about the opportunity as she explained, "When I was a kid, my step-father played minor league baseball for the Kansas City Royals' Double-A team, which made me develop a true love for the game. I'm really excited to get back to the park on a weekly basis. This show is going to be a lot of fun!"
Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave will be a weekly series, with 30 episodes of 30 minutes coming to you straight from the MLB Fan Cave in New York City. The show will feature MLB stars discussing their love of pop culture, while fans will get the chance to go behind the scenes, with famous fans also stopping by for chats with the hosts and the players.
As well as having Melanie Iglesias as one of the hosts, Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave will also see Sway and Fat Joe, as well as Chris Distefano on hosting duties. It has also been confirmed that MLB all-stars Robinson Cano, Adam Jones and Craig Kimbrel, as well as 2013 Rookies of the Year Jose Fernandez and Wil Myers, will serve as executive producers on certain episodes of the show.
Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave will premiere in April on MTV2
