There was once a time when it looked like the acting career of Matthew McConaughey was destined to be little more than that of a rom-com actor, going through his career just doing a string of average rom-com movies, without ever really fulfilling the potential we all knew he had. However, Matthew has since gone on to become one of the biggest, best and most sought after actors in Hollywood, even bagging himself an Oscar along the way.
Now though, despite the fact that he is often mocked for his rom-com past, Matthew McConaughey has admitted that he would definitely be interested in making a return to his rom-com past and making some more of those movies again in the future. Matthew has another serious role in the new movie Free State of Jones but he says that he is looking to get back into more comedy roles in the near future.
McConaughey was chatting to the Press Association, when he explained to them, "Obviously Free State of Jones isn't a Saturday character. It's a Monday morning, go to work character. But I'm open to that in the future. I'm looking for some comedy right now."
Matthew McConaughey has given us some very impressive performances over the years and we expect that he will once again be at the very top of his game in the new movie Free State of Jones. The film was already released in the US earlier in the year but is not due to hit the big screen in the UK until September 30.
