When you hear the name Lindsey Vonn, many of you suddenly think of the name Tiger Woods, after this beautiful star made global headlines for dating the golf legend. The couple always looked very happy together, after confirming their romance in March 2013, before then announcing that they had split up in May 2015, much to the surprise of many people.
However, Lindsey Vonn has also enjoyed a very successful career in her own right, being recognised as one of the best downhill skiers on the planet, something which she has already reaffirmed in 2016. Lindsey has started out the year by winning the downhill event at the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Austria on Saturday, before then going on to add the Super-G title to her name on the Sunday.
It is no surprise that this stunning star has been delighted with how her year has begun, while she is also keen to focus on keeping her form and continuing to win events across the rest of the year. Following her win on the Sunday, Vonn said, "It's a perfect start to the new year. Hopefully I can just continue on in this direction and keep winning." We are sure you will do great things.
Lindsey Vonn also has some records she is closing in on, equaling Annemarie Moser-Proll's record or 36 World Cup downhill wins, while she is also now just 13 short of Ingemar Stenmark's record of 86 overall World Cup wins, with 73 to her name. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old currently leads the way in the World Cup super-G, with an 80 point gap over Cornelia Hutter, while she has also closed the gap to 38 points of Lara Gut for the overall standings.
