The acting industry can be a very fickle place from time to time and, while you are at the top and riding high one minute, you are at the bottom battling for scraps the next. All it takes is one big flop to knock the confidence of even the best of actors but, it is how they recover from this that determines whether they will come back stronger or disappear into obscurity.
Actresses Lily Collins was enjoying a steady rise in the acting industry, when she landed the lead role of Clary in the big screen adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. With the books proving very successful and a number of other movie adaptations of novels proving very successful, it was expected that this would be the start of a new hit movie franchise.
Unfortunately though, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was made on a budget of around $60m but only managed to gross $31m in the US, totalling only $80m worldwide, putting an end to any chance of a new movie franchise happening. While such a huge flop would be enough to have a negative impact on any stars career, Lily Collins kept it together and is still going strong.
Since then, Lily Collins has appeared in the movie Love Rosie, while she also has a role in the Untitled Warren Beatty Project, which is due to hit the big screen next year, as well as being attached to the planned movie The Secret Evidence, which will see Lily share the big screen with Emily Watson, Ben Kingsley, and Saoirse Ronan.
So, as you can see, Lily Collins is still going strong and not letting one blip in her career have a negative influence on her future. Keep up the good work Lil.
