There were quite a few raised eyebrows back in 2000, when it was announced that the little known Australian actor Hugh Jackman had been cast to play the role of Wolverine in the first X-Men movie. However, since then, Hugh has become one of the biggest stars on the planet and it is almost impossible to imagine anyone else ever playing the character.
The new movie Wolverine 3 is going to be the last time we see Hugh Jackman playing the superhero character and there has been plenty of talk about what to expect from the film. Hugh has now opened up about saying farewell to Wolverine for good and has admitted that he wants to make Wolverine 3 the best movie it can possibly be.
During a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, Jackman explained, "I don't have a start date because, we're not going to have start dates until we have that script perfect. It matters too much to me, I care too much about the character, about the audience, and when you say it's going to be your last one... I just want to leave everything on the table, absolutely everything."
If Hugh Jackman really wants Wolverine 3 to leave everything on the table and give the fans what they want, then he is going to have to convince the crew to allow him to wear the famous Wolverine costume, which the fans have been calling for over the years. Whether that will actually happen or not remains to be seen. Watch this space!
