When a movie prove successful at the box office, you can pretty much guarantee that a sequel is going to get made in the not too distant future, as always seems to be the case in Hollywood these days. So it was no surprise then, when the 2012 movie Pitch Perfect was given the green light for a sequel, after grossing an impressive $112m worldwide.
This meant that there were high hopes for the Pitch Perfect sequel and the movie did not disappoint, with Pitch Perfect 2 going on to outdo the first movie, grossing an even more impressive $285m worldwide. As was expected, the franchise was given the green light to add a third instalment and we are now waiting for the release of Pitch Perfect 3.
We already know that writer Kay Cannon is returning to pen the screenplay for Pitch Perfect 3, while it has also been confirmed that we will see the likes of Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Rebel Wilson, Elizabeth Banks, and Brittany Snow all returning for the new film. However, we will also get to see the hugely talented Hana Mae Lee reprising her role in the movie.
Hana Mae Lee has appeared in both of the previous Pitch Perfect movies, where she plays the role of Lilly and previously admitted that she loved every minute of making the movies. It would be expected that we will surely get to see Hana Mae Lee back as Lilly in Pitch Perfect 3 but we guess we will just have to wait for official confirmation.
Pitch Perfect 3 is aiming for an August 4, 2017 release date.
