There have been so many different child stars who have come through over the years, some of who tend to slowly but surely vanish into relative obscurity, or throw their potential away, while there are others who have gone on to become huge Hollywood stars. Elijah Wood is one of the latter, and Elijah has now been talking about what it was like to grow up as a Hollywood star.
Wood was talking with the Metro newspaper, when he revealed to them, "I remember being about ten and wanting to go to college. As a kid, I was home-schooled or tutored, but then life - and acting - took over. I've had such rich life experiences, I don't feel like I've missed out on the whole college thing."
While there are possibly some roles that Elijah Wood wishes he never took on, or roles that he rejected and regrets missing out on, there is one role that he is grateful to have landed. Elijah will forever be remembered for playing the role of Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings films, and he has admitted that it is something he would never have missed out on.
Wood added, "I wouldn't have missed out on that for the world. It took me so many places. You're kind of aware it's a high water mark, you're never going to work on anything quite like that again. The goal afterwards was to work on things that are as different as possible, to find fresh challenges. But Frodo hasn't been a hindrance, he opened lots of doors."
Well we are all glad that you did land the role of Frodo Baggins, Elijah, as The Lord of the Rings movies would not have been the same without you.
