While there are some people in the movie industry who have suggested that the superhero movies will eventually come to an end, it does not look like happening any time soon, with plenty of exciting comic book movies coming our way over the next few years. As well as having Avengers: Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 to look forward to, there has been talk about a possible crossover between the two.
WWE star turned actor Dave Bautista plays the role of Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy and he is very clear about what he would like to see happening in the near future. Dave says that he is all for a crossover with The Avengers characters and has even been praying for it to happen as soon as possible.
Bautista was chatting about the possibility of it happening, when he explained, "Yeah, come on, man. Hell yeah. Yeah, of course I would. At the core of me is the biggest geek you’ve ever met. I’m a superhero fan first and foremost, and…of course, man, I want that to happen."
He then went on to add, "It’s rumors right now, but, you know, I pray every day…and night, and afternoon, and after you walk out the door I’ll go pray and say, 'Please let Drax be in The Avengers.' [Laughter] Yeah, I hope it’ll happen."
Unfortunately for Dave Bautista and fans around the world, Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn has insisted that he does not want to see the film crossover with the Avengers at any point in the near future. Bad times!
