Anybody who has even been involved in any kind of cancer scare will know that it is a very difficult thing to go through, so you can just imagine how hard it must have been for Angelina Jolie, having the whole world knowing everything about her ordeal. Angelina had suspected signs of early stage ovarian cancer, so took the decision to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed, something which she and husband Brad Pitt have now opened up about.
The couple were guests on The Today Show, when Pitt explained, "[I] was out in France [filming By The Sea], and Angie called me and I got straight on a plane to return… …seeing my wife have to be her strongest and knowing that it's the scariest news is terribly moving. And not being there is a horrible feeling.”
Meanwhile, Jolie added, "He made it very, very clear to me that what he loved and what was a woman to him was somebody that was smart and capable and cared about her family. It’s not about your physical body. I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and this wasn’t something where I was going to feel less of a woman because my husband wasn’t going to let that happen."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together for almost 10 years now, with the couple finally tying the knot in 2014. The two superstars have a very big family, with six children together, three who they adopted and three biological children. We wish the whole family well for the future.
