Seeing hit novels being adapted into big screen movie projects is nothing new, as we have seen a huge amount of them over the years and we will no doubt see plenty more happening in the coming years. One such novel, that has been talked about being adapted into a movie, is the hit Stephen King novel The Dark Tower, which we are still waiting to see.
It was way back in 2010 that we first heard word about The Dark Tower being adapted into a film and, since then, we have seen the project changing hands on a number of occasions, although nothing has yet come to fruition. However, it now looks like we are finally going to get to see The Dark Tower hit the big screen, with casting underway.
The cast for The Dark Tower is already looking very impressive, with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey already signed up for the project, while it is believed that the beautiful actress Abbey Lee will also have a role in the film. It is believed that filming will get underway at some point in 2016, with the stars getting themselves ready for the shoot.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Dark Tower, this movie adaptation has been described as "Gunslinger Roland Deschain roams an Old West-like landscape in search of the dark tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world."
While the cast is still coming together, it looks like The Dark Tower will be directed by Nikolaj Arcel, who also had a hand in penning the screenplay for the project, adapted from the Stephen King novel, with the movie aiming for a January 13, 2017 release date in both the US and the UK.
