'Shameless' producers have announced that Justin Chatwin isn't returning for the show's fourth season. The former Lost star played Fiona Gallagher's (Emmy Rossum) on-again, off-again boyfriend Steve Wilton/Jimmy Lishman in the first three seasons of the show.
Instead, the show plans on adding two new characters to the show, played by The Walking Dead's James Allen McCune and See Dad Run's Dankia Yarosh. McCune will play Matt, a sweet 20-year old who develops a crush on the much more mature Debby Gallagher (Emma Kenny). Yarosh will play 15-year-old Holly, who helps Debbie grow out of her childhood and enter a more grown-up world.
Don't be too upset, Justin Chatwin fans. The star is likely leaving his recurring role because he needed time to work on his upcoming movies, 'No Stranger Than Love' and 'Asleep at the Wheel.'
'No Stranger Than Love' is a romantic comedy currently in post-production. The movie recently wrapped up filming in Toronto. 'Asleep at the Wheel' is a different type of comedy, and is currently in pre-production. Rumors state that Justin will play the lead role of Vince in the film, though there's been no official announcement yet.
The season four premiere of 'Shameless' airs Jan 12, 2014 on Showtime.
